The Bully Kutta, a molosser type of dog is considered as the pride of Pakistan although this rare dog breed has actually originated in India. The Bully Kutta was developed in Thanjavur and Teruchi, the districts in southern India. "Kutta" means dog. The "bully" in the name was derived from the Hindi word bohli which means heavily wrinkled. The Bully Kuttaname was purportedly given as the dog has a heavily wrinkled face. Bully Kutta is oftentimes referred to as Indian Mastiff and Sindh Mastiff as the breed originated on the area that part of the Sindh district. The Bully Kutta is believed to have descended from ancient breeds of molossers .The Bully Kutta is also known as South Asian Mastiff and Pakistani Bully Dog as this breed is most commonly found in areas that belong to Pakistan.
The Bully Kutta dog is a thick boned muscular breed. Weight of male Bully Kuttas range from 150 to 170 pounds though some large specimens can reach up to 210 pounds. Female Bully Kuttas are rather smaller. Measured at the withers, a male's height can vary from 30 to 44 inches and female's height is from 28 to 36 inches. Because of its mastiff ancestry, a Bully Kutta has the looks of a mastiff. The breed is noted for its colossal head that is supported by the thick well muscled neck. True to being a mastiff, the dog has a wrinkled boxy face as the face, the mouth and the neck are loosely covered with skin. The dog has a strong black muzzle. It has well developed very strong jaws.
A Bully Kutta is a powerful fearless dog. While majority of these rare dogs are used in India and in Pakistan as guard and protection dogs, a lot of Bully Kutta dogs fall in the hands of dog fighting enthusiasts. Dog fighting is illegal in Pakistan and in other countries. Unfortunately, this bloody cruel sport is still being done illegally. Bully Kuttas that are used in dog fighting are bred down a few inches for performance sake, and Over the years the Bully Kutta's blood line have been corrupted as they are now used for Illegal dog fighting tournaments that are held in south asian countries like India and pakistan. It's very hard to find the pure breed in this time and age. The thing to be underlined again that pure Bully Kutta breed just belong to south asian region, after the British Rule this breed was corrupted as they mixed it with English bull terriers to drop its size and increase the speed for the fighting tournaments.

This type of Bully will have a huge solid frame & bone structure stand 30-34" & weigh 150-170lbs you sometimes will have the exception of an extremely large BEAST that will be near the 200lb mark. They come in most colors but are most of the time predominately white they have a smooth coat that fits nicely to the body the skin is loose & elasticated which is very tough this is a distinctive characteristic of the breed. They have a huge colossal head with eyes that seem to sink in pure Bullys will also have some loose dewlap this does not mean they are heavy drools. An experienced Pakistani dog men can tell the difference between a pure Bully just by the GAIT their gait is very much like that of a Lions & is extremely powerful & elegant.
